Taurine is a conditionally essential amino acid formed from methionine and cysteine. It is found in the body as a free amino acid or an ingredient of simple peptides – in blood platelets and bile, where it forms taurocholic acids with biliary acids. This amino acid is not a structural element of physiological proteins, but it is necessary for processes of their transformation. The human organism produces only small quantities of taurine, which is insufficient particularly for young and growing organisms or for people performing physical activity. Taurine, similarly as glutamine, stores nitrogen in the body. It has a buffering effect on blood pH, reduces the intensity of protein decomposition – it displays an anti-catabolic action, substantially contributing to musculature improvement. During physical activity, serotonin – a hormone causing catabolic reactions in muscles – is released in the body. Taurine limits the production of this hormone. As a result of reduced amount of serotonin produced, the body does not feel tired and can perform the physical activity for much longer, with catabolic processes occurring to a limited extent. In conditions of subjecting the body to physical effort, taurine maintains for a long time a high concentration of calcium ions in nerve and muscle cells, and displays an insulin-like effect on carbohydrate metabolism – reduces the blood sugar level. Moreover, scientific studies have found beneficial action of taurine as an agent: - supporting the protein synthesis and having anti-catabolic action; - preventing the development of cardiovascular disorders; - regulating (lowering) the blood cholesterol level; - stabilising the function of nerve and brain cells (in epilepsy); - preventing macular retinal degeneration; - adjuvant in the treatment of hepatic disorders; - delaying the effects of Alzheimer’s diseases; - enhancing creatine transport.

Recommended Use
Depending on physical activity, use 2 to 4 capsules daily or otherwise upon prior agreement with a dietician or a doctor.
